Surf

Look, there are a lot of surf rods out there. And there a lot of needs for surf rods out there. Here in Florida, we don’t have the surf-fishing culture of the northeast or the west coast. That’s not to say we don’t fish from the beach… we all fish from the beach. I’m just saying we aren’t out chasing striper migrations with live eels on Cape Cod or throwing spoons at bluefish the size of a labradoodle out on Hatteras. We’re much more serious than that. We’re out there every day, hunting anything that might swim by. That’s why you need a rod that will handle a Pompano as effectively as it’ll handle the bullshark that just ate grandma down by the inlet. Well, maybe not as effectively, but it won’t embarass you, either.

At the heart of our surf rod portfolio is the Florida Coastal 12, one-hundred, forty-four inches of bait chucking authority. With a weighted fighting butt for balance and a cork-tape lower grip, it’ll provide you plenty of leverage to reach out and touch something. A graphite reel seat pairs to either a cork or EVA foam foregrip (your choice) and is topped by just the right artistic touches necessary to remind you where you are and make the rest of the beach jealous. A Concept-style guide train keeps the friction down and the casting (and action) fast. Tell us what reel you’re using and we’ll set the rod up specifically for it. And compared to some of those northern rods, this one won’t totally bust the bank (but we’ll happily build you one of those if you prefer). Comes in two pieces.

Twelve feet more than you’re wanting to step into? We can go eight. Or 10. Or 10’6″. Or 13, for that extra big rod energy. From sand fleas to an eight-ounce mullet, you can throw anything. Tell us what you like and we’ll build the system to match! We have access to all the blanks from all the major manufacturers… there’s nothing we can’t build you.
